100% free · open-source

Built out of
nodes.
Made for
control.

A node canvas for AI filmmaking. Lay out your whole production — characters, scenes, shots, models — on one canvas, and run it with your own keys. Completely free. No subscription, no credits, no lock-in.

Your keys. Your models. Your workflow.

“You’ll own nothing.
And you’ll be happy about it.”

That was the promise. Your tools, your files, your whole process — leased back to you by the month, until the price moves, the terms change, or the one feature you built your workflow around quietly disappears.

Every tool wants your trust before it has earned a cent of it.

Vague credit systems. Subscriptions that only ever drift upward. Closed ecosystems built so your craft depends on them — so that leaving costs more than staying. That isn’t a product. It’s a leash with a logo.

“I don’t know if fury can compete with necessity as the mother of invention. But I recommend it.”

— GLORIA STEINEM

So this was built out of spite. A refusal to build on someone else’s leash — open-source, creator-owned, yours to inspect, fork, and break.

BRING YOUR OWN KEYS. USE ANY MODEL. OWN THE PIPELINE END TO END. NO LOCK-IN. NO LANDLORD. NO LEASH.

This is what happens when frustration becomes infrastructure.

· THE WHY

· WHY IT EXISTS

Every AI filmmaking tool fails one of two ways.

01

The closed platforms trap you.

Credit systems you can’t audit. Subscriptions that change without notice. Your pipeline lives behind someone else’s business model — you rent it, you don’t own it.

02

The open tools assume you’re an engineer.

Wire up anything — and start from zero every time. No scene, no shot, no character that stays consistent across fifty clips. You rebuild the basics by hand.

VECTOR NODES refuses both ends — open-source like the technical tools, with production primitives like the closed ones. Owned by the creator either way.

· FAQ

Straight answers.

Can I use it without a subscription or credits?+

Yes — Vector Nodes itself never charges you: no subscription, no Vector Nodes credits, no markup. The one real cost is AI generation, paid directly to the model providers through your own keys.

What is a “node canvas”?+

A visual board where each step — a prompt, image, video, or model — is a node you wire together and rearrange. It mirrors how a real production flows.

Do I have to use the node canvas?+

No. Flow is a simple linear thread where you type a prompt, choose a model, and generate without wiring a graph.

Do I need to know how to code?+

Using Vector Nodes is visual: you work in scenes, shots and characters. Self-hosting takes some technical comfort, but no heavy engineering.

Which AI models can I use?+

Use the providers and models you choose. Your keys and model spend stay yours.

06   OPEN SOURCE

Use it, fork it,
break it, improve it.

Vector Nodes is open-source because creative infrastructure should not disappear behind closed doors. Inspect it, adapt it, extend it. It is early and unfinished — that is the point.

07   COMMUNITY

Not finished. That’s the invitation.

Vector Nodes is open and unfinished on purpose. The people doing real production work are the ones who should shape it — bring a model integration, a workflow fix, or documentation that finally explains things plainly. Or fork it and make it entirely your own.
